Ph.D. Research Project

Abby’s research, “Operationalizing Analytics through Resource Transformation,” explores the vital but often overlooked area of integrating business analytics (BA) into organizational processes to boost decision-making and efficiency. Focusing on the transformation of BA resources in top Australian organizations, his work reveals key strategies for effective resource integration, scalability and sustainability. The research addresses gaps in BA literature, presenting a comprehensive framework for organizations to leverage their BA resources for sustained competitive advantage. The findings highlight the dynamic nature of resource transformation, offering actionable insights for IS practitioners to improve BA operationalization. This contribution advances both theoretical understanding and practical applications within the information systems discipline, fostering more effective and scalable BA practices across various organizational contexts.

Teaching Profile

As a Sessional Academic at RMIT University and La Trobe University (past), Abby has extensive experience coordinating, developing, and teaching subjects in Information Systems, Marketing, and Strategic Communications. Since 2020, Abby has coordinated 6 courses, lectured and tutored in 16 courses, and contributed to developing 7 courses across undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Teaching Awards

Abby was awarded the 2021 La Trobe University Vice-Chancellor’s Sessional Teaching Award and the 2021 La Trobe University College Provost Sessional Teaching Award for a triadic approach to curriculum design and the successful delivery of the Social Media and Visualization undergraduate course.
