AI transformation for sustainable fashion ecosystem – an ambidextrous approach
COVID-19 has hit the fashion industry hard, from supply chain disruptions to declining consumer demand since garments are not essential goods and services. As a result, many SMEs have struggled, and some have even faced mandated closure. To overcome the deficit caused by the pandemic, many are calling for a reimaging, readjusting and repositioning of the industry’s economic, commercial, and artistic fundamentals for the better.
W1Cyber has been working on various projects commissioned by the fashion industry. Its staff see a need for a holistic and consistent approach to digital transformation, particularly with the recent influence of Generative Al and Al technologies more broadly through the value chain. W1Cyber is now seeing growing consensus within the fashion industry that digital transformation, particularly Al, will empower the fashion industry to change for a more sustainable future. With Al, fashion companies can automate, optimise and transform the fashion supply chain by enabling more efficient and personalised customer experiences with data-driven decisions.
This project will produce an ambidextrous leadership roadmap for a sustainable fashion ecosystem with Al transformation. This roadmap will help W1 Cyber identify areas of gap as well as strengths in their current engagements with the industry so that W1Cyber can offer SMEs leaders the balance between exploiting existing resources/processes while exploring new opportunities with digital transformation, especially Al.
By combining sustainability and Al, the project aims to create a roadmap that not only improves efficiency and profitability but also considers fashion’s social and environmental impact.
