Capability statement
The RMIT Enterprise AI and Data Analytics Hub is a multi-disciplinary research group known for its innovative approaches to the field of AI (artificial intelligence) and Analytics. The group’s activities underline its commitment to undertake research and engagement to foster excellence in AI and Analytics research with a strong enterprise focus alongside a keen interest to deliver research activities that has societal impact.
The multi-disciplinary team brings together researchers in information systems, computer science, and various business disciplines (e.g., accounting, finance, HR and supply chain) to tackle complex challenges through the AI and Analytics lens while ensuring a holistic approach to solution delivery that meets enterprise needs.
It is this approach that has led to significant success of the Hub, securing significant multi-year research grants from competitive agencies (including the CSIRO, ARC, NHMRC and MRFF) and direct industry funding. Since establishment in February 2022, the Hub has grown quickly through the large number of funded projects, leading to an expansion of the research team and PhD positions all with full scholarships and the majority with a paid internship component.
The Hub’s focus on societal impact has resulted in a strong partnerships and collaborations, including with other institutions, industry and government agencies. These funded work are shared with the community through regular engagement on LinkedIn, RMIT thought leadership events around the world, as well as the community through engagement with the media locally and overseas. The alignment with societal impact is further emphasised by the Hub’s engagement activities, including public education and awareness, engagement with AI and Analytics stakeholders on all levels, and to inspiring the next generation of researchers and skilled workers who can deliver transformational change using AI and Analytics.
Looking forward into the future, the Hub’s focus on AI and Analytics innovation with an emphasis on sustainability and enterprise-grade solutions that are accessible to the society will guide the research and engagement activities of the Hub.

Focus areas
Our current research is organised across various themes, providing a rich research environment to support the research, external engagement, and the vision of the Hub for research that has societal impact. The Hub runs several research programs, reflecting our current area of focus. Each program reflect a collection of research projects that contribute to one or more outcomes within the program. You will also find information, such as the investigators, industry partners, funding body, and more. These programs can be viewed under Research.
The Hub’s focus on the society means we also translate our research expertise into training opportunities for our stakeholders. There are several different educational opportunities, including PhD supervision, professional development (or executive courses), as well as formal qualifications at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in which members of the Hub teach into at RMIT University. You can read more about these initiatives under Education.
Industry partnerships
The Hub and its members work with a diverse range of partners, including both internal and external stakeholders on research projects that lead to outcomes, broader engagement, and societal impact. Our range of partners can be seen in the “Partners” section.
