Pursuing a PhD is a major milestone in life for many. It’s driven by a desire to investigate a complex problem, to make a change for the betterment of society, or to contribute to the knowledge in a particular field. Doing a PhD is both challenging and rewarding and it will be one of the major decisions you make in your life.

We have put together a wealth of resource below for you, including how you can express interest in doing a PhD with the Hub. Whether you are interested in a particular topic or have an idea that you would like to pursue with us or our partners, we are keen to have a chat.

Before you reach out

To ensure that a PhD is the right fit and you can get the most out of undertaking a PhD, ask yourself the following questions

  • Do you have a passion for deep knowledge and on the topic of AI or Analytics?
  • Do you know why you want to pursue a PhD?
  • Are you ready to devote 3 to 4 years of your time on the problem?
  • Have you done the research on entry requirements at RMIT University, check out the staff profiles, and learn about the research topics that the Hub offers?

Getting in touch

If you can answer the questions above, the next step is to prepare the material we require to consider your application. Each University has different requirements so please make sure you take the time to compile them and sending them in a single email. This is the best way to ensure that all material required are in one place and it helps to improve your chances to be considered.

  • Your latest CV outlining your qualifications, projects, publications.
  • Highlight publications that have good rankings. Journals with good rankings are those ranked A*/A in the ABDC list (get this list here) or journals with a Q1 ranking by Scimago (you can check your journal’s quadrant here).
  • If you are an international student, your English test scores.
  • Your full thesis (Masters or Honours) – not just the abstract.
  • Your undergraduate and postgraduate transcripts.
  • A statement of why you want to undertake research with us and what research problem/projects you are keen to pursue.
